Hello September!

September is a big month for many people; school, college, university etc. For me, September means my boyfriend's 20th birthday, the long-awaited return to university for my second year and conversations with a new landlord over paint and cleaning agreements. Fun...

In all seriousness though, I love the 'back-to-school' season, even though I am technically no longer eligible to attend 'school'. I have an obsession with stationary and love to stock up annually (I've unsurprisingly been loving Sainsbury's stationary offers...an A4 pink Pukka Pad Jotta for £2?! Bargain!). Since starting uni, I have also been loving homeware shopping. A girl has to be comfortable in her home away from home, right? I have been collecting little bits and bobs for my new home over the summer ready to put in place next week when I move. However, there is one thing about my pre-uni preparation which I think will definitely become tradition. The trip to IKEA with my mum!

The nearest IKEA to me is actually in Warrington, so it's quite a way away. However, when you have the IKEA app and know exactly what you want, there is no better place. Quality and great prices are jam-packed into them little (or not-so little) yellow and blue Swedish warehouses and I love traipsing round, following the arrows on the floor and choosing my bargains. My shopping 'list' on the app is currently telling me that I'm spending more than my budget will allow for, so I will have to reign myself in slightly. I have consoled myself with the fact that I have put multiple of the same items on my list though as I couldn't decide between them from the photos...and the knowledge that I'll be tucking into the tasty, yet cheap, Swedish food at lunchtime is oh-so-comforting. Bring on Sunday!

What do you do to prepare for a new academic year? If you aren't in education of some sort, what does the ninth month (I can't believe there's only three left after this!!) of the year hold in store for you?

  1. I can't believe it's already September!!Keep in touch

  2. lovely :)

  3. I like IKEA because it has so many interesting things. I am attending the 1st year of college in less than a month and am very nervous. I hope it won't be scary or anything. Great post and keep up the good work.

  4. September means I can start stocking up on fall clothes like cosy jumpers & pretty boots. Great post. Xo

  5. Omg IKEA is amazing!! I went the other week and was totally mesmerized had to be dragged out, so I think I'll be going again with someone who is less likely to make me leave (although it could be for the best!) .. September for me is arranging the new house, school drop offs and pick ups and general getting prepared for Christmas and autumn :)

    From your new follower :)
